Nineteen third-grade teachers from 10 schools in East Hawaii were honored at the first annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club of Hilo on Nov. 16 at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
Nineteen third-grade teachers from 10 schools in East Hawaii were honored at the first annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club of Hilo on Nov. 16 at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
Each of the attending teachers was presented at the luncheon with a complimentary lunch hosted by a Rotarian. They also received a lei and a special gift bag offering of Rotarians’ donations and teacher supplies, which included a Kindle for their classroom.
The teachers and schools in alphabetical order were the following: Tiffany Chai, Christian Liberty School; Autum Tempany, Connections New Century Public Charter School; Leah MacLeod, Ha‘aheo Elementary School; Sandra Hathaway, Haili Christian School; Trudi Everett and Marelyn Manliguis, Kamehameha Schools; Akemi Nakamura and Kris Cabreira, Kaumana Elementary School; Cheryl Yoshioka, Lauryn Castro, Lorna Misech, Kelly Yoshioka, Dianne Gallina, Iwalani Harris, and Dax Gushiken, Keaau Elementary School; Josie Harding, Laupahoehoe Elementary School; Joey Freitas, Mauna Loa School; and Mamo Bezilla and Poha Tolentino-Perry, Ke Kula O Nawahiokalaniopuu Iki Public Charter School.
